A category gives me a stable comparison rule. For footwear I check the outsole, heel, and sizing. For clothing I check measurements and fabric. For electronics I need the exact compatibility details. Starting with the object itself also keeps a familiar name from distracting me.

Which category should you start with?
Use the narrowest category that describes the object without guessing. Hoodies, shirts, jackets, pants, and shorts can begin under Clothing. Jewelry, headwear, and glasses can begin under Accessories. If an item spans categories, write down why you chose the starting point.
